General Overview

For more than half a century, the 911 Porsche has remained the premier Porsche performance offering. Prepared in a wide range of variations throughout the decades, the GT3 was developed as a road car reflecting the very best of 911 competition history. First offered in 1999 as part of the 996 model range, the GT3 option package was focused on racing, delivering impressive performance figures, uncompromised handling, and intentionally void of unnecessary accessories.

In 2009 the second generation GT3 was launched. Packed with a 435 hp dual overhead cam 24 valve flat six engine and dynamic engine mounts, the new GT3 delivered astonishing performance figures in either manual or automatic mode. In recent years, although the PDK was a cost extra feature, 6-speed manual variants have commanded greater value due to their historic import and irresistible three-pedal connection to the power and unprecedented driving experience offered in these unique cars.

0-60 mph times in the low 3 second range, astonishing quarter mile times, and a near 200mph top speed all added up to one thing – the GT3 was a proven performance leader. But, as modern Porsches are known to be, the GT3 was every bit at home either as a daily driver dicing with traffic in an otherwise mundane daily commute, or pushing the edges on weekend track days.

History and Build Details of This Car

According to the clean and recently received Carfax, this beautiful GT3 was purchased by the first and only owner after delivery to Carlsen Porsche, Redwood City, CA. Already built to an impressive level with numerous standard features in the GT3 package, this car was delivered with the following additional options.

-Meteor Metallic Grey Paint
-Sport Bucket Seats in Black Leather
-Dynamic Engine Mounts
-Floor Mats in Interior Color
-Lightweight Headlights
-Universal Audio Interface

In November 2009 with just 12 miles showing, the car was titled to the first and current consigning owner. Regular services at Michael Stead Porsche (now Porsche Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA) included fluid and filter changes, brake fluid flushes, workshop campaign work, and various other services performed as part of the Porsche recommended maintenance for this series car. Additional services included replacing the fuel cap with a correct factory aluminum unit, new spark plugs, pollen filters (2015, 6,800 miles), and CA emissions testing. In 2018 a four-wheel alignment was performed, steer angle sensor reset, corner balance adjusted, and a new battery installed. In preparation for sale, in September 2022 with 9,511 miles, Porsche Walnut Creek performed an oil and filter change, annual service/fluid inspection, the smog monitors were set, and a new set of 235/35/19 and 305/30/19 PZ Corsa tires were mounted and the wheels torqued to correct specifications. A DME report was run on the car showing excellent ratings with no codes returned indicating excess revs on the original engine.

Condition Overview

Today this factory original Porsche presents in excellent visual condition with smooth, glossy, original factory applied paint confirmed by digital paint meter readings in the low single digits. Under current ownership, the car has been parked both indoors and outdoors with evidence of outdoor exposure to some areas of the lower windshield and rear glass rubber corners. All factory features are well detailed showing no significant marks or flaws to the gleaming metallic gray finish with the exception of a dime-sized etch mark in the paint attributed to bird droppings. The front air dam has a small scuff mark on the lower right-side section. The factory body panels are in excellent condition showing tight fit to all closures and excellent bumper cap fit. The elevated dual surface wing is perched atop the rear of the car delivering a signature presence to this series, stretching out over the flared rear fenders for high-speed air flow and downforce stability. Beautifully finished central hub wheels are in excellent condition with bright six and four pot red brake calipers showing through the alloy spokes. A set of 235/35/19 and 305/30/19 PZ Corsa tires were installed less than 500 miles ago, in 2018. The rear wing stretches out over the flared rear fenders for high-speed air flow and downforce stability.

The original black interior is essentially new throughout, featuring excellent black leather and Alcantara finishes, beautifully preserved door panels, and excellent carpeting. The leather seating surfaces and Alcantara inserts are supple and beautifully maintained with minor evidence of use shown on the driver’s left side seat bolster. The dashboard features beautiful factory gauges fronted by an Alcantara trimmed steering wheel, entertainment system with CD player, and the highly desirable 6-speed manual gearbox. As with all GT3 models the rear seating has been removed to lighten the car, finished with matching carpet. The front storage compartment is clean and original, offering welcome space for weekend luggage. Every aspect of the interior is fresh, crisp, and beautifully maintained, exhibiting all the traits of a documented low mile car that has been professionally serviced under singular ownership.

The engine compartment and trunk retain a stock original appearance. The engine compartment is clean and properly detailed, displaying the original features including the under-hood housing cooling fan and key factory systems, all still in place. Underneath the car, the specially engineered aerodynamic pans are all in excellent condition including various openings and air management systems aiding in brake cooling and cornering control. The inner panel surfaces, under hood finishes, and chassis details support the originality and preservation this car has enjoyed since delivered new to the singular and current owner.
