Description

2005 Ferrari F430 Spider
VIN: ZFFEW59A550141748
Rosso Corsa with Beige Leather

Introduced to great acclaim at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari F430 was heralded as one of the most advanced Ferrari road cars in the history of the company. Many Ferrari enthusiasts eagerly awaited the arrival of this car as an advancement of the already popular 360 which had revolutionized modern sports car design in many ways. The 430 delivered in all respects. The new quad cam light alloy V8 engine, derived from years of Formula 1 development, was high revving, reliable, and capable of delivering nearly 500hp. The Pininfarina body, led by legendary designer Frank Stephenson, enhanced downforce through the use of advanced aerodynamic features realized from extensive wind tunnel testing. The new design displayed a distinctive taillight treatment and twin front ovoid air intakes, echoing the iconic vintage Ferrari shark noses of racing past. Mechanical innovations included a limited slip active differential (E-Diff), Manettino steering wheel controls, and Skyhook electronic suspension. With an MSRP of just under $200,000.00, the F430 was a tour de force of technology and refined engineering.

The following year, in 2005, the Spider F430 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Once again using Formula 1 simulation programs, the convertible body design was developed with keen attention to wind intrusion experienced under high speed open-air driving. The new design allowed for smooth cockpit air management through the use of a two-stage folding roof and aerodynamic management tools. When lowered into place, the soft top was engineered to be easily concealed into the rear bodywork using electronic raising and lowering features, available at the touch of a button.

This particular F430 Spider has covered only 2,077 miles since acquired new from Northern California dealer Ferrari of San Francisco, CA. Delivered June 30, 2005, this F430 was assembled at the factory with the following options, confirmed by the factory authorized window sticker accompanying the car:

Red Brake Calipers
“Scuderia Ferrari” Fender Shields
Electrically Operated Seats
Power Extended Service Coverage
Bluetooth Dev. For Mobile Phone
Satellite Navigator
Roll Bar Upholstery Color
Leather Rear Shelf/Door Molding
High Power HiFi with Subwoofer

According to the recently received Carfax, this car has been under the care of just two California owners. The Carfax indicates passing results for California emission tests as well as records for service. Over the past fifteen years, both owners have exercised tremendous restraint, limiting the remarkably low miles while properly maintaining and detailing this F430 Spider with great care. Invoices accompanying the car include the purchase and installation of a new set of Bridgestone tires installed in 2013 with 1,326 miles recorded on the odometer at that time. In 2017, Ferrari of San Francisco performed a $1,600.00 annual fluids, filter, and general service for the car.

Today this beautifully maintained and sparingly driven Ferrari F430 Spider presents in exceptionally fine condition, confirming the remarkably low miles it has covered since delivered new. The paint finish is excellent throughout, showing deep gloss on all Corsa Red exterior surfaces. Typical areas where road chips might normally be expected such as the front bumper or rocker panels are very clean with no notable marks. The dramatic sloping windshield and beautiful paint create a handsome contrast to the undulating shape of the car, echoing both the sculptural beauty and utility of the aerodynamically derived intakes, airfoils, and detail treatments. The glass, Zenon covered headlamps, lighting, and lenses are in excellent condition with no notable chips or scratches. The emblems and script are nearly flawless as well. The convertible top is in as new condition with tight fit, crisp borders, edges and seams. There is some mild fogging to the rear plastic foldable window panel. All body panels display uniform factory fit throughout the car including clean inner surfaces and door jambs. The Challenge wheels are in excellent condition along with the Bridgestone tires installed less than 700 miles ago.

The interior of the car is in especially nice condition. The leather is supple and smooth with excellent surfacing and no marks of note. The dashboard, instruments and switches are all in near new condition, as one might expect from a documented low mile car. The steering wheel, dash pad, and instrument cluster are free of notable wear. The driver’s seat has no marks or bolster wear while all other leather surfaces including the center console, door panels, visors, and A-pillars are all in excellent to near new condition. Even the optional leather covered roll bar hoops display fresh factory finishes. Both the upper central portion of the dashboard and the lower center console are accented with carbon fiber. The satin black center console ashtray, and the window switches have some light scratches and the typical slight stickiness. Carpeting is in near new condition, both on the floor mats and surrounding footwells. The inner liner for the convertible top, rubber weather stripping and stitching are also like new. In all, the interior is handsome and fresh with excellent fit and finish befitting a car of this stature. The front storage area remains essentially new and consistent with the rest of the interior, appearing factory original. Clearly the previous owners have maintained this car with proper care and enthusiastic consideration, protecting the quality and excellence of the original design with thoughtfully minimal use.

Under the hood, the innovative light alloy quad cam V8 engine has been properly maintained with excellent casting finishes, factory housings and original accessory equipment as delivered. Ferrari factory number plates, factory installation stickers, and verification markings are in place and in excellent condition. The original engine and engine compartment are clean and correct. The underside of the car shows almost no signs of use and certainly is reflective of the low miles. Owing to the years it has spent in the mild California climate since new, even the floor pans and cast parts show little to no signs of age. There is no immediate visual evidence of structural compromise to the floor, chassis components or suspension mounts. In all respects, the underside of this Ferrari is as well maintained as the exterior and interior finish.

The car drives and shifts beautifully with no hesitation in power. Road manners are exactly as described when new, capable but when prompted, rewardingly quick, and surprisingly well-mannered even under normal driving conditions. At highway speeds even with the top down, the aerodynamic engineering proves to have been successfully developed as wind buffeting is at a minimum and conversations or music from the optional high power HiFi and subwoofer system can be enjoyed. Cornering and braking are as one might expect from a car developed utilizing Formula 1 technology; simply breathtaking. For anyone who has dreamed of a Ferrari that can be enjoyed on a regular basis, this F430 Spider reflects all the superlatives that Ferrari continues to enjoy as a premier performance brand. Documentation and accessories accompanying the car include the original window sticker, a complete tool kit with air compressor, battery tender, factory car cover and seat covers, complete owners book set with leather pouch, including radio card, supplement, and navigation manual, and assorted service records.

This Ferrari F430 Spider is a wonderfully preserved example offered in iconic Corsa Red with beige leather interior and preferred options. Presented with beautifully maintained finishes, this low mile, two-owner California Ferrari is ready to drive and enjoy. Known history and low miles validate the care given to this amazing performance car. The supple leather interior and contrasting vibrant red exterior make this Ferrari a compelling and dynamic combination of grace and power. Ready for your next escape, either on a country road or flat out on the highway; open air performance driving is revealed at its finest, behind the wheel of a Ferrari.
