1983 Porsche 956 Group C Racecar
s/n 111
Brun Motorsports Team Car

This chassis was first sold by Porsche A.G. to Team BRUN Motorsports on June 30, 1983. It was one of only seventeen privateer 956`s sold by the Porsche factory and one of only twelve known to still exist. Unlike the later Porsche 962, all 956`s were built by the Porsche factory.

While being campaigned by BRUN Motorsports, the car ran in the following liveries: Liqui Moly, Gaggia, Advan, Schiesser, Warsteiner and Guffanti.

In addition to Walter Brun, this car was driven by Hans Stuck, Steffan Bellof, Harold Grohs, Oscar Larrauri, Massimo Sigala, Gabriele Tarquini, Prince Leopold von Bayern and Clemens Schickentanz.

BRUN ran the car in the World Sports Endurance Championship, the German Sportscar Championship, the Interseries and twice entered the car at Le Mans where it finished in seventh place in 1984.

The car was sold by BRUN Motorsports to SCHUPPAN Racing in August of 1985. Vern Schuppan campaigned the car with Iseki sponsorship in the All Japan Championship Series. He was joined by George Fouche and Kelichi Suzuki, with whom he won the Fuji 500km race on November 23, 1986 and thus becoming the last Porsche 956 to win a race in a championship series.

This Porsche 956 has a 2.65 ltr. Mechanical F.I. twin turbocharged motor with water cooled heads producing approx. 650 H.P. A stainless water pump impeller has been fitted such that it can be stored wet. It is fully restored, sorted, and race ready.

Currently the car is in near perfect racing cosmetic condition with very good paint and window glass. The car sits on nicely polished BBS wheels.

With the car comes a new Le Mans nose, spare wheels, brake discs, and inter coolers.

With a growing number of venues available for the Group C racecars, there has never been a more exciting time to own such a fantastic piece of competition history. Stateside, HSR has developed an entire series for Group C and IMSA cars with very well attended events sharing weekends with Grand-Am and the ALMS. In Europe the grids are so full for Group C cars, classes are segregated by year of manufacture, again making the 956 the most competitive car on the track.
