s/n 151393, Engine no. P*832378*
Silver with Red Leather Interior

Porsche introduced the ‘A’ version of the 356 just as it was coming into its own as a sports car manufacturer. They had just completed their 10,000th car, and with racing efforts gaining momentum, it was clear that Porsche was a force to be reckoned with. In recent years, the A has appreciated considerably as enthusiasts become aware of its delightful blend of Porsche’s iconic early styling and considerable mechanical updates learned from their dramatic racing successes of the 1950s. The 356A has an aesthetic purity that has made it among the most sought after early Porsches, while the traditional Porsche values of craftsmanship, engineering, and focus on driving are beautifully articulated in these cars.

This show quality 1959 356A Cabriolet has gone an extensive restoration and recently completed. The body has all its original panels and didn't show any serious damage when taken down to bare metal. Typical rust repairs were done, floor pans, logitutials and battery box. Lots of restoration photos. Transmission is a 741 and completely rebuilt by Alan at The Stable. The 741 is converted so that the stock shifter could be installed. Engine by Classic Auto Racing, is 1720 with C cam and C spec Zenith carbs (new bases used in the rebuild). Aluminum oil cooler and balanced 28 blade fan. Rebuilt period correct generator. All sheet metal is powder coated and where appropriate, clear CAD plating is applied. Upholstery by Autos International. The convertible top was completed restored. Frame restored & painted, new wood bows, padding kit, headliner and black Stayfast G skin installed. Recliners, original to the car, were re-chromed and in excellent working order. Seat pans repaired. Red Wine interior with Charcoal carpet and black & silver coco mats blend perfectly with the flawless silver paint .Gauges by Palo Alto Speedometer, Wood steering wheel by Bruce Crawford. Reflectors are original glass reflectors. Over riders by Greyeagle. Everything has been "touched" on this car! The original engine case is included with the car.
